Sheikh Hasina is now staying in India after leaving the country after resigning from the post of Prime Minister. According to various sources, domestic and foreign media reports that Sheikh Hasina was given only 45 minutes to resign and leave the country. He resigned and took his younger sister Sheikh Rehana with him and left for India by helicopter.
The Indian media reported on Monday evening that Sheikh Hasina left Dhaka and went to Agartala in Tripura by helicopter. From there, a Bangladesh Air Force aircraft carrying him landed at Hindon Air Base in Ghaziabad near Delhi.
But the final destination of Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana is not India. This Tuesday morning, the Indian media ANI reported that the Bangladesh Air Force C-130J aircraft carrying Sheikh Hasina has taken off again. Sheikh Hasina can be there. Later, ANI reported that Sheikh Hasina was not on that flight.
The question is, where will the new Bangladeshi Prime Minister go if he leaves India? The Government of India is completely silent on this matter. Nothing has been announced about Sheikh Hasina's next plan.
However, various media outlets have reported that Sheikh Hasina has planned to seek asylum in the UK. But nothing is known for sure about it.
Sheikh Hasina's niece Tulip Siddique is currently an MP of the ruling Labor Party in the UK. Tulip is the UK Government's Minister for the City. She is Sheikh Rehana's daughter.
Sheikh Hasina's daughter Saima Wazed Puthul lives in Delhi for work.
