2,894 MW load shedding expected in the afternoon, suffering may increase at night

As the country continues to experience power shortage, a maximum of 2,894 MW load shedding is expected on Saturday (August 29). According to data analysis by Power Grid Bangladesh PLC (PGCB), the power shortage is expected to be the highest around 5 pm.
According to PGCB's forecast, there may be about 1,03 MW load shedding at 10 am and 1,023 MW at 12 pm. After that, the shortage may increase rapidly. It is expected to reach 1,471 MW at 2 pm, 2,483 MW at 3 pm and 2,593 MW at 4 pm. A maximum of 2,894 MW load shedding has been predicted at 5 pm.
Although it may decrease slightly in the evening, the power shortage may increase again towards night. The forecast calls for load shedding of 2,216 MW at 6 pm, 1,528 MW at 6:30 pm and 2,770 MW at 7 pm. Load shedding of up to 2,550 MW at 8 pm and 2,703 MW at 9 pm is possible.
According to the information, the country's electricity demand at 9 pm may be a maximum of 18,730 MW. Production against this is estimated at 15,900 MW. At 10 pm, production against the demand of 17,970 MW may be 15,700 MW. As a result, there is a risk of a major power shortage at night as well.
For the past few days, there has been a shortage in power supply in the country. As a result, the suffering of the common people is increasing due to frequent power outages in various areas including the capital. According to Saturday's forecast, the situation may become more difficult after the afternoon and there is a risk of load shedding continuing at night as well.
