The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has predicted that the trend of rain and thunderstorms may increase again in the country. Along with this, the threat of moderate to heavy rainfall has been reported in various regions of the country. According to meteorologists, although the deep depression located in Chhattisgarh and adjacent areas of India is gradually weakening and moving westward, the monsoon is currently fairly active over Bangladesh.
According to the bulletin of the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with temporary gusty winds are likely in most areas of Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and many places in Rajshahi and Khulna divisions. At the same time, moderate to heavy rains are likely to occur in some places in the country. The Meteorological Office has indicated that this rain pattern will continue for the next few days.
Regarding temperature, the Meteorological Department said that during this time, the day temperature may increase slightly, but there is no possibility of any major change in the night temperature. Although the day temperature will remain almost unchanged in the future, the night temperature may increase slightly. It was also reported that the influence of monsoon winds in the North Bay of Bengal is currently at a moderate level.
Meanwhile, due to continuous rains, extreme waterlogging and flooding conditions have already been created in various low-lying areas of the country. In such a situation, the forecast of new heavy rains has created additional concerns in river basins and coastal areas. This has led to an increase in water in low-lying areas and the overall suffering of the common people is likely to increase further.
