2 Killed in Army Firing Exercise Accident in Hathazari

Two army personnel were killed in an accident during an army field firing exercise in Hathazari, Chattogram. The incident occurred on Wednesday (September 9) at the Hathazari Field Firing Range while tank firing was underway. An army officer also sustained serious injuries in the incident.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated in a press release that tank firing was being conducted as part of a scheduled field firing exercise when the accident suddenly occurred. Two soldiers of the Bangladesh Army lost their lives, and one officer was critically injured.

Following the accident, the injured officer was promptly rescued and given first aid. Later, considering the severity of his condition, he was airlifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka for advanced medical treatment.

Meanwhile, the concerned authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the accident at the Hathazari Field Firing Range. The ISPR stated that the actual cause and details of the incident would be known upon the completion of the investigation.
