The Rapid Action Battalion has arrested former controversial Member of Parliament Abdur Rahman Badi in Yaba Karbar in Cox's Bazar.
RAB raided Chittagong on Tuesday (August 20) night and took him into custody. In a message from RAB's legal and media wing, the matter was informed to the media.
It is known that he will be arrested in the case filed earlier against Badi. RAB said that it will be informed later from the RAB headquarters in Dhaka.
Before this, allegations of Yaba involvement centered on Cox's Bazar-Teknaf were raised against Badi. However, on April 17 this year, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police found the involvement of Abdur Rahman Badi's two brothers. While investigating the case of 10 drug godfathers of Cox's Bazar, their involvement was found.
The Drug Control Department and several intelligence agencies and law enforcement agencies have also identified Badi as the godfather of drugs several times. According to a report by the Narcotics Control Department, Yaba's other big traffickers or local businessmen cannot do this against Badi's opinion. According to reports, Badi's brothers Mujibur Rahman and Abdul Sukkur and cousin Mong Mong Sen are also Yaba's godfathers.
