The terrorists beat Juba Dal leader Farooq in Chatmohar and broke his leg

The terrorists beat Faruk Hossain (35), Member Secretary of Chatmohar Upazila Jubo Dal in Pabna with a rod and broke both his legs. He was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital with serious injuries.
The incident took place on Friday (September 13) around 10 pm in the area adjacent to the Mathurapur oil pump in the upazila.

Injured Farooq is the son of Jamal Sardar of Kubirdiar village in Mulgram Union of Upazila and member secretary of Upazila Jubo Dal.
And the accused Anwar Hossain is the son of Golap Hossain of Khatbari village of the same union and is a member of Ward No. 8 of Mulgram Union Parishad. He is said to be a supporter of BNP.
In protest of this incident, on Saturday (September 14) at 11:30 a.m., the leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations took out a protest march and blocked the Pabna-Chatmohar highway. The hour-long blockade caused massive traffic jams on both sides of the road.
Upazila Chhatra Dal joint convener Zillur Rahman, an eyewitness who was with Farooq, said that Jubo Dal leader Farooq was sitting at a tea stall in front of the Mathurapur oil pump with some party leaders and activists around ten o'clock on Friday night. At that time, 15/20 armed terrorists led by Moolgram Union Parishad member Anwar Hossain on 8/10 motorcycles came there and ambushed Farooq and started beating him with rods.

When the leaders and activists went to rescue them, they held them hostage by putting weapons on their heads. At one stage of the beating, when Farooq became unarmed, the assailants left him and fired several blank rounds.
At that time, the activists and local people who were with him rescued him in a serious condition and first admitted him to Chatmohar Upazila Health Complex. As his physical condition deteriorated while undergoing treatment there, the doctor on duty shifted him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital around 11 pm.
Regarding the incident, Chatmohar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Salim Reza said that the police visited the spot after learning about the incident. The preliminary investigation found the truth of the incident. However, no one filed a complaint with the police till 2 pm on Saturday. Legal action is pending.
Accused UP member Anwar Hossain said, I have been doing BNP politics for a long time. This happened due to previous enmity.
He claimed that Farooq and his men who were present there stopped me when I went to the petrol pump to get oil on my bike. When my relatives came to rescue me after hearing the news, a fight broke out and Farooq was injured. He denied any incident of firing.
In this regard, member secretary of Chatmohar Upazila BNP H Islam Hira said, I do not know whether the incident is party or personal. However, Anwar member selected the candidate of Awami League in the last election. Whether he is a member of BNP can be verified. If he is a member of the party, the party will definitely take strict action against him. And condemn the attack and demand justice for those involved.
