As there is grief over the murder of Jhenaidah-4 Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Anwarul Azim Anar, there is also anger among a section of Awami League. Criticism is going on inside and outside the party for giving people like Anar a chance to become an MP. There is pain and anger among many in the party as to how people like Anar became MP three times despite full-time party politics that failed to get nominations.

Many of the ruling Awami League's policy makers claim that when the trend of targeting local influential people, leaving out experienced leaders and activists, started to nominate in the national parliament elections, controversial and accused people got a chance to enter the parliament. In the 10th and 11th parliamentary elections, controversial figures like Anar have made room in the party to show relaxation in giving party nominations.

They said, there is a need for muscle power in politics, but since 2014, i.e. since the lack of victory in the 10th parliamentary elections, Awami League has become overly influential.
Meanwhile, party sources said that in 2008, in the 9th National Assembly elections, businessmen were preferred over politicians in giving party nominations. Even then, the level of 'damage' was not so terrible. In the 10th National Assembly elections (2014), experienced political leaders were left behind. Along with businessmen, people accused of various crimes took place there.
