BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu has claimed that Jamaat-e-Islami is involved in various misdeeds happening in the country, yet efforts are being made to pin the responsibility of them on BNP. He made these comments while speaking as the chief guest at the 18th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Pharmacy Association at the Abdus Salam Hall of the National Press Club on Thursday.
In his speech, Dudu said that Jamaat is using Islam to do politics and since the people are aware of history and reality, it is not possible to get people's support through propaganda. He claimed that the people of the country still support BNP.
Criticizing the former government, he said that despite being warned several times about the outbreak of measles, no effective measures were taken. He also accused the universities of creating unrest. According to him, a group is trying to destabilize the situation in various ways.
Dudu also said that the criminals have no political identity. He called for bringing anyone who commits a crime using the name of BNP to justice. At the same time, the BNP leader also called for immediate increased surveillance if any misdeeds are committed around the party's leaders and activists.
