First Test series win against Pakistan. That too by washing Pakistan on their own soil with a bitter taste. After this great achievement naturally there is a wave of happiness in Bangladesh cricket. After the Bangladesh team split into two and returned home last night, the level of anger increased.
But although 16 cricketers went to Pakistan, 15 landed at Hazrat Shahjalal Airport last night. After traveling from Karachi to Dubai with a part of the team, he caught a flight to London. By now he is supposed to reach England. There he will play county cricket for Surrey. Who is talking about, surely you understand! Shakib Al Hasan, who has been accused in the murder case of a garment worker who was shot dead during the student uprising.
Shakib played in both Tests against Pakistan with the sword of that case. Even though there was a lot of discussion and criticism about his play or not, he got his teammates by his side. From Mushfiqur Rahim, Muminul Haque, Shariful Islam to Enamul Haque, Rubel Hossain, who are out of the national team, they have expressed their position on social media claiming Shakib is 'innocent and innocent'.
Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hossain also had to answer questions about Shakib after returning home with the Test series winning trophy yesterday. All the cricketers have said that they are with Shakib. It should also be taken up with the Chief Adviser if possible. Nazmul told reporters at the airport, "Saqib Bhai's case is different. But every player is with Shakib bhai. Everyone knows how dedicated Shakib bhai is to the game and how crazy he is about the game. Always thinking for the team. When we meet (with the chief advisor), if it comes up, I will say that every player is with Shakib bhai.'
Bangladesh moved up to fourth in the World Test Championship points table after winning the series 2-0 in Pakistan. Bangladesh, who could not win more than one match in the previous two Test Championship cycles, have already won three matches this time. Almost all of the series-winning heroes also made big jumps in the ICC Test rankings. But before going to Pakistan, the Bangladesh team has gone through a lot of difficult times in the country. During the anti-discrimination student movement, due to the deterioration of the law and order situation in the country, the field practice of the team was stopped for a few days.
However, putting the adverse situation aside and concentrating on the game, Bangladesh has achieved incredible success. Nazmul said about this, 'It is one of the best achievements of Bangladesh cricket. This seems best to me. It's not just me alone, everyone in the team believes it. It feels very good.
Nazmul also thinks that he has been able to adapt well to the conditions there as he was able to go to Pakistan a few days before the scheduled time, 'This series has gone very well. The way we prepared, before going to the tour and after going there… thinking about everyone's mentality, skill and ability in the team, overall there was a very good preparation and everyone wanted us to win. We went to Pakistan three days ago. It has given us an added advantage.
