New Zealand celebrated Southee's departure with a big victory. They won the fourth day of the Hamilton Test today, Tuesday, by a huge 423 runs.
New Zealand scored 347 runs in the first innings. In response, England were all out for 143 runs in their first innings. Batting in the second innings with a lead of 204 runs, the Kiwis scored 453 runs. In this, the target for England to win was 658 runs.
But chasing the run, England finished the third day with 18 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 6 overs. And they could add 216 runs to the team's collection by losing the remaining 8 wickets. In this, the English were all out for 234 runs in 47.2 overs. And the Black Caps won by a huge margin of 423 runs. In the last Test of his career, Southee took 2 wickets with the ball and Matt Henry took 2 wickets. Mitchell Santner crushed England by taking 4 wickets.
New Zealand's Santner was the man of the match with 3 wickets for 76 runs in the first innings and 4 wickets for 49 runs in the second innings. England's Harry Brook was the man of the series with 350 runs.
