Soumya Sarkar has been called up to the team for the upcoming T20 series against Afghanistan. Soumya has been named in the team in place of Liton Das, who was ruled out of the series due to a rib injury.
A source from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) gave the details. However, it is learnt that Soumya Sarkar has not yet received a visa for the Emirates. It is believed that he may leave the country to play against Afghanistan on Tuesday (September 30).
In this regard, the BCB has not yet officially announced the team. It is believed in the cricket community that Soumya Sarkar will replace Liton and try to strengthen Bangladesh.
This is big news for Bangladesh cricket fans, especially since Soumya Sarkar's playing skills were in the spotlight amid criticism from India and Pakistan after the recent loss to Pakistan in the Asia Cup.
