A student of Islami University committed suicide by hanging himself by hanging himself on a suicide note saying 'whatever I touch with my hand becomes sad'. He is a 2020-21 student of the University's Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management.
This incident happened on Tuesday (08 October) at his home in Manikganj. His father Ismail Hossain confirmed his death.
According to campus sources, Manikganj Md. Ismail Hossain's son Adnan Ferdous. Adnan was first admitted to Islamic University's Department of Folklore Studies in 2018-19. Later, he took the university entrance exam for the second time and was admitted to the Tourism and Hospitality Management Department in the year 2019-20. But if the year drops in the first year, Adnan takes regular classes with the 2020-21 year. He also filled the exam form last year. However, he has been staying at his home since 4/5 months ago, thinking of going to study outside the country after suspending his studies in the department due to mental distress. Later yesterday, he committed suicide by writing a suicide note at his home with a rope around his neck.
In the suicide note, Adnan wrote, 'Most likely today is my last day on this earth. Everything seems unbearable. I feel like I am cursed by something. Despite many efforts, I could not free myself from the curse. Since childhood, I have never been able to present myself properly. Even today I may not be able to write anything properly. Only at the end of the day could I realize that I am a failure as a human being. I lost myself in a bottomless pit while searching for the reason for this failure.
I don't know what it's like as a person. Maybe much worse or better. But one thing is absolutely sure that I am a burden to everyone around me. I was dreaming so big that everything seemed to fall into place for something. The answer to what is the curse of the damned may never be known. The line "whatever I touch with my hands becomes sad" is probably meant for me.
I finally realized that death is better than living as the cause of someone's problems or a burden to everyone. I don't know if death will welcome me, but I am hopeful. If in this short life you have suffered from my behavior or use, then I hope you will forgive me. Everyone will be fine. Oh most importantly I don't need the reality that "I am responsible for my own death".
I want freedom from this reality. I don't want to be stuck in reality anymore. Requested not to postmortem my body.'
In this regard, Adnan's father Ismail Hossain said, Adnan has been in a state of mental distress for a long time. He was undergoing treatment. But yesterday he suddenly left the world. At this time, he asked everyone to pray for the child.
Meanwhile, on Adnan's untimely death, Assistant Professor Shariful Islam, president of the department, said that Adnan was a very talented student. I used to counsel him on his father's request since he got admission in university. We, the tourism family, are deeply saddened by the news of his sudden death today. May his soul rest in peace.
