Police have recovered a large quantity of sharp weapons and cocktails from the shop of a worker of the banned organization Chhatra League in Shivnagar area of ​​Kaliganj town in Jhenaidah. A special team of Kaliganj police station conducted the raid today (Monday, May 26) at around 2 pm.

The name of the recovered person is Rubel Hossain. He is the son of Idris Ali of Shivnagar area and according to local sources, he has been involved in the politics of the banned organization Chhatra League for a long time.

Several sharp knives, hatchets, Chinese axes, a hammer, iron rods, railway stones and an active cocktail were recovered from his shop during the raid.

Police said that they conducted a raid in Shivnagar area based on secret information. These dangerous weapons and explosives were recovered after searching the shop. A police officer present at the scene said, "We believe that the recovered weapons were kept for use in some local terrorist activity or sabotage. We are investigating the matter."

Locals said that Rubel had been creating panic in the area for a long time and that the presence of unknown people at his shop after evening was noticeable.

Although the police did not arrest Rubel Hossain after the operation, a case is under process at Kaliganj Police Station. Police said that action will be taken against him under the Arms Act and efforts are being made to identify others involved in the incident.

The incident has spread anxiety and panic among the locals. Many have claimed that a gang was using the name of a banned political organization to dominate the area and carry out criminal activities, with which Rubel may be involved.

The officer-in-charge (OC) of Kaliganj Police Station said, "We have started a thorough investigation into this matter and all those involved in this will be brought to justice."
