Youth arrested in Jamalpur on charges of online love, later spreading personal photos

Jamalpur Correspondent: The District Detective Branch (DB) has arrested a youth from Dewanganj, Jamalpur on charges of spreading personal photos and videos of an Indian girl due to a love relationship that developed through acquaintance on social media.

The arrested person has been named Mostafizur Rahman Mehedi (19). He is a resident of Kalikapur area of ​​Dewanganj upazila.

Police said that he was arrested in a raid in Kalikapur area on Tuesday (August 4) night. Later, the matter was informed by Jamalpur District Police on Wednesday night.

Relationship from acquaintance on social media

According to police information, Mehedi met a young woman from Murshidabad district of West Bengal, India on social media. Later, a love relationship developed between them.

At one stage, they exchanged personal photos and videos with each other.

It is alleged that Mehedi threatened to spread the young woman's personal photos and videos if the relationship deteriorated later. Later, some of them were also sent to the girl's relatives.

Joint investigation by the police of the two countries

After the incident, the victim filed a complaint at the Suti police station in Murshidabad, India.

After learning about the matter, the district detective police started an investigation on the instructions of the Jamalpur Superintendent of Police. After the investigation found the primary truth of the complaint, Mehedi was arrested.

An Android mobile phone used by him was seized during the arrest.

Police said that information from various social media and messaging accounts was found after examining the phone. Analysis of this information revealed information related to the allegation of spreading personal photos and videos of the victim.

Jailed on court orders

Jamalpur District Detective Branch Officer-in-Charge (OC, DB-1) Sohag Rana said that the detective police have filed a case as the plaintiff in this incident.

Later, when the accused was produced in court, the court ordered him to be sent to jail.
