Television and OTT platform producer Sarwar Jahan has long alleged that he has been a victim of fraud and harassment by his wife Ruqaiya Tahsina. He said that for the past two years, he has been seeking redress by approaching the court. The Dhaka CMM Court had already issued an arrest warrant against Ruqaiya Tahsina and her alleged accomplice Anwarul Kabir alias Shakeel.
Sarwar married Ruqaiya Tahsina in 2012. They have two children. But after learning about Ruqaiya's extramarital affair with Anwarul Kabir since 2017, they separated in January 2023.
Sarwar alleged that Ruqaiya tried to flee abroad by changing the identity of her child's father, making a passport and birth certificate. He has filed a case in court under sections 467, 468 and 419 of the Penal Code in this incident. In addition, Rukaiya has filed several false cases against him, including a rape case, which have been proven false during the investigation.
Sarwar sent a divorce notice to Rukaiya on December 15 last year. He cited Rukaiya's keeping her previous marriage secret, maintaining multiple marital relationships and harassing her through false cases as the reasons for the divorce. A notice was also sent to Rukaiya in this regard for accepting dowry money. However, in response to this, Sarwar alleged that Rukaiya had filed a new case against Sarwar.
Sarwar said that Rukaiya had also tried to involve him in a political case. He claimed that he was not involved in any political activities and that these false cases were being made with the intention of harming him socially and financially.
It is worth noting that producer Sarwar has produced several dramas and content on Jahan Television and OTT platforms. He wants to resolve the family problem through the court and expects a fair trial of the charges against Ruqaiya.
