A female teacher was killed and her husband injured in a truck accident in Panchagarh

A female teacher named Rina Akhter (45) was killed in a truck accident in the Dakshin Telipara area of Panchagarh Municipality. Her husband, Madrasa Super Saiful Islam, was seriously injured.
The accident occurred on the Dhaka-Panchagarh National Highway in front of the 18th BGB Battalion at around 11:30 am on Tuesday (December 9).
Rina Akhter is a resident of Munshipara area of Debiganj Upazila and was the head teacher of Debiganj Perfect Academy. Her husband, Saiful Islam Sheikh Badha Reazia, is the Super of Dakhil Madrasa.
Locals said that Madrasa Super Saiful Islam and his wife Rina Akhter were going from Debiganj to Panchagarh city on a motorcycle for official work in the morning. On the way, Saiful Islam lost control after hitting a speed breaker on the road while overtaking a truck in the BGB Battalion area. Rina Akhter was crushed under the rear wheels of the truck and died on the spot. After receiving the information, the fire service and police recovered the body.
After the accident, angry locals blocked the road for about an hour and demanded the removal of the illegal speed breaker. Later, the situation normalized when Deputy Commissioner Kazi Md. Sayemuzzaman visited the spot and assured to take necessary measures.
In this regard, on Tuesday afternoon,
Ashraful Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Panchagarh Sadar Police Station, said that the truck has been seized and the process of filing a case under the Road Accident Act is underway.
