Jessore Jubo League leader 'Tak Milon' arrested

Jashore district Jubo League leader and former councilor of ward number 4 of the municipality, Zahid Hossain Milon alias 'Tak Milon' has been arrested by the Detective Branch (DB) police. He was arrested from the Rampura area of Dhaka on Friday (December 19) midnight.
Confirming the arrest, Jessore Detective Branch Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Ali said that Milon is a resident of the old Kasba area of Jessore city. He had several cases against him and an arrest warrant.
DB police said that there are several cases against Milon on charges of abuse of power during the Awami League government. Based on secret information, a DB team identified his location in Dhaka and conducted a raid and arrested him. He is currently being taken to Jessore.
According to police information, Milon was arrested by law enforcement agencies several times before. He was arrested at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on January 12, 2020, while returning home from Dubai with his wife and children during an anti-casino operation. He was also arrested on February 15, 2024, along with three associates.
Police said there are at least 14 cases against Milon under the Murder and Explosives Act. He is also an accused in the murder of Jubo League activist Shariful Islam Sohag in the old Kasba Kazipara area of Jessore town on the night of September 28, 2018.
In addition, information about his involvement in the bomb attack on the house of Jessore-3 MP Kazi Nabil Ahmed on the night of January 27, 2019 came to light during the police investigation. Law enforcement officials claim that Milon was the leader of that incident.
He is also accused of running an illegal 'One Ten' gambling business for a long time at the Palbari Royal Community Center in Jessore suburb.
