Madrasa student killed in Durgapur hit by battery-powered auto-rickshaw

A madrasa student named Md. Yunus (10) was killed in a hit by a battery-powered auto-rickshaw in Durgapur, Netrokona. Yunus was declared dead by the doctor on duty when he was brought to the Upazila Health Complex on Saturday (December 27) afternoon.
Earlier, this accident occurred in the Bennakanda intersection area of Kullagara Union of the upazila. The deceased Md. Yunus is the son of Yakub Ali of Bennakanda village.
According to local and police sources, Md. Yunus was a student of a local madrasa in the Bennakanda intersection area. Yunus left for home for lunch when the madrasa was closed. At that time, a recklessly speeding battery-powered auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction hit him. The locals rescued the seriously injured child Yunus and brought him to the Durgapur Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
In this regard, Durgapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Kamrul Hasan said that the deceased's grandfather has already filed a complaint with the police station. The operation to catch the killer auto driver is ongoing.
