Mentally challenged girl raped in Faridpur on the pretext of feeding her mango

Police have arrested a young man on charges of raping a mentally challenged girl (21) in Boalmari, Faridpur, by tempting her to feed her mango. The incident took place on Friday morning. Later, locals detained the accused and handed him over to the police.
The accused youth is named Faizullah (39). He is a resident of the same upazila and is the father of three children.
The victim's aunt filed a case under the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act at Boalmari Police Station as a complainant. Based on the case, the police have arrested Faizullah.
According to local sources and family members, Faizullah took the girl to his house on the pretext of feeding her mango on Friday morning. There, she was accused of physical abuse. Later, hearing the victim's screams, relatives went to the spot and rescued her.
Boalmari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Anwar Hossain said the accused was arrested immediately after receiving the complaint. The victim is being provided with necessary medical and legal assistance. He will be sent to court on Saturday.
