Nabaak’s “New Arrival, Botanical Garden Visit and Cultural Program-2025” Completed at Chittagong University

The “New Arrival, Botanical Garden Visit and Cultural Program-2025” was held at the Botanical Garden of the university on Sunday (October 26, 2025) at the initiative of the 2024-25 Executive Council of the Chittagong University organization ‘Nabaak’. The whole atmosphere became festive with the participation of new and old members of the Nabaak family, former students and teachers in this day-long event.
The program was hosted by Jannatun Naeem Khuki and presided over by Nabaak President Jannatun Naeem Jenny.
The newly elected General Secretary (GS) of Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (CHAKSU) Saeed Bin Habib and Assistant General Secretary (AGS) Ayubur Rahman Toufiq were present as special guests.
Also present at the event were Assistant Professor of the Department of Islamic History and Culture, Ms. Munmun Nesa Chowdhury, Professor of the Department of Botany, Dr. Kazi Mohammad Mesbaul Alam, Dean and Professor of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Md. Zafar Ullah Talukder, Professor of the Department of Forestry and Environmental Sciences, Dr. Mohammad Jasimuddin, Professor of the Department of Microbiology, Dr. Mohammad Jobaidul Alam, Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy, Mohammad Mozzammel Haque, and Associate Professor Dr. Shirin Akhtar. In addition, former members of the organization also joined the event as special guests.
The day-long event included a visit to the botanical garden, freshers' reception, sports, cultural programs, and raffle draws. In the sports section, ball throw competitions for girls and musical chairs for boys were held. In the cultural section, solo and group music, dance, recitation, and raffle draws were held.
At the end of the event, prizes were given to the winners and the event was declared over at 5 pm in a joyful atmosphere.
The program was supervised by the Freshmen Reception and Program Organizing Subcommittee. The program was successfully completed under the leadership of the subcommittee convener Nazifa Ihsas Ikar and member secretary Saiful Islam Tanim. Other members of the subcommittee were Mubin, Rakib, Simon, Lipi, Akil, Tasnim, Taleb, Shakib, Elin and Mubarak.
The organizing committee said, “The main purpose of this program is to make the beginning of the university life of the freshmen memorable and to increase mutual friendship between the freshmen and the seniors.”
