A banner belonging to the Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal—a political organization in Bangladesh—has been discovered in the Indian state of Assam after drifting there attached to gas-filled balloons. The banner was recovered from a paddy field in the Lakhimpur district. Its unexpected appearance has sparked curiosity among the local population, and the Indian police have initiated an investigation into the incident.

The banner was found on Friday (October 30) in Letekujan village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Narayanpur Police Station in Assam. A local teenager spotted several balloons in a field while out grazing cattle; later, as the balloons descended near an embankment, he retrieved them and brought them home.

The flex banner, attached to the balloons, bore a message marking the 48th founding anniversary of the Moulvibazar district branch of the Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal. According to reports, the banner featured images of BNP leader (and designated successor) Tarique Rahman, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, and BNP founder Ziaur Rahman.

Meanwhile, videos circulating on social media show similar banners being released into the sky, attached to balloons, during Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal anniversary celebrations in various locations across Bangladesh.

Upon discovering the banner, local residents alerted the police. Officers from the Dhalpur police outpost subsequently arrived at the scene and took the balloons and the banner into their custody.

The police are currently investigating where exactly the banner was released and how it managed to reach the village in Assam. The final findings regarding the banner's precise origin and its trajectory remain unknown at this time.
