Today is Pahela Falgun, the first day of spring, which is on the one hand a time for nature to take on a new look, and on the other hand, World Valentine's Day. The changing appearance of nature in spring, the liveliness of new leaves, and the trees full of colorful flowers are captivating the Bengali mind even more. Like the poems of poet Rabindranath Tagore, "Aay re Basant, Hetha, Kusumer Sushma Jaga Re" proves that spring is not only a festival of nature, but also of the human heart.
This time, World Valentine's Day coincides with spring, which is bringing new love melodies to young hearts. The spring breeze has spread throughout the country, including Dhaka city, and the chirping of birds and the cooing of cuckoos are making Bengalis go crazy.
In addition, preparations for the traditional Bengali Spring Festival are underway at various places in Dhaka, such as the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dhaka University, Sector 3 of Uttara, and Bahadur Shah Park in Old Dhaka. This year, Pahela Falgun coincides with Shabebarat (a Muslim religious festival), so the festival will be celebrated for half a day. Cultural programs will be held from 7 am to noon, in which 42 cultural groups will participate.
Meanwhile, the demand for flowers has increased due to spring and Valentine's Day, resulting in a boom in the flower business. Today is a special day for young people, where they will celebrate the arrival of spring and love together.
