The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LP gas) at the consumer level. In the new announcement, the price of a 12 kg LP gas cylinder has been reduced from Tk 1,940 to Tk 1,885.
BERC gave this information in a notification on Tuesday (June 2). According to the new price, consumers will be able to buy LP gas at a lower price of Tk 55 per 12 kg cylinder.
In addition, the price of autogas has also been reduced. The new price of autogas per liter has been set at Tk 86.93, which was earlier Tk 89.50.
It is worth noting that the price of LP gas was significantly increased in two phases last April. On April 2, the price of a 12 kg cylinder was increased by Tk 387 to Tk 1,727 and on April 19, it was increased by another Tk 212 to Tk 1,940. This time, after that increase, consumers have regained some relief with a slight price drop.
