The recent decision of the central bank has opened the door to new possibilities in the export and e-commerce sectors of Bangladesh. As a result of the new directive, the country's exporters and entrepreneurs will be able to sell products directly to foreign customers through international online marketplaces.
According to experts, this step will further accelerate cross-border digital trade and make it easier for small and medium entrepreneurs to enter the global market.
According to the new rules, Bangladeshi businessmen will have the opportunity to display and sell products on recognized international e-commerce platforms. Some processes have been simplified for small consignment exports within a certain price range, which will help increase the speed of business.
In addition, the opportunity has been given to issue shipment documents directly in the name of foreign buyers. As a result, the intermediate steps will be reduced, and the supply of products will be faster and more effective, according to those concerned.
The policy also provides for a refund system in case of product returns or quality complaints. At the same time, permission has also been given to legally send money abroad for registration, membership and various services required to participate in the international marketplace.
The business community believes that entrepreneurs who had to enter foreign markets through third parties until now will now be able to reach global buyers directly. This will create new opportunities to expand the international market for domestic products as well as increase export earnings.
Economic analysts expect the new initiative to make Bangladesh's export sector more competitive at a time of rapid expansion of digital trade.
