On Tuesday midnight, Pakistan launched a missile attack on the Indian Army Brigade Headquarters and completely destroyed it. Immediately after this attack, India launched a counterattack against Pakistan. Tensions between the Indian Army and the Pakistani security forces are now at an all-time high, and reciprocal attacks are going on between the two countries.
A source in the Pakistani security forces told PTV channel that the Indian Army Brigade Headquarters was attacked and destroyed. An Indian army post in the Dudanial sector adjacent to the Line of Control (LoC) was destroyed in the missile attack. According to Express Tribune sources, Pakistan launched a missile attack against India and during this three of their citizens were killed and 12 were injured.
Pakistan's DGFI Director General Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that India launched missile attacks on five of their places in the middle of the night. He also said, “Kotli, East Ahmedpur, Bagh, Muzaffarabad and Murdike were also attacked. One child was killed and 12 injured in East Ahmedpur in the attack. Two civilians died in Kotli.”
He claimed that the attack on the mosque in Pakistan was “a proof that India’s missile attack is part of the Hindutva ideology of the RSS.” He alleged that two mosques in particular were attacked in Kotli and Ahmedpur.
The Indian Army said in a statement that it had conducted an operation called ‘Operation Sindoor’. This operation targeted nine locations in Pakistan, where terrorist infrastructure was targeted. However, the Indian forces claimed that their attack was aimed at hitting the epicenter of terrorist activities in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, not the Pakistani army.
The Indian side also said, “This operation was carried out to destroy the terrorist infrastructure, where anti-India activities were being carried out. Our aim was not to harm the Pakistani army.”
So far, neither country has declared war on the other, but the situation has become tense. Border clashes and counter-attacks have further increased tensions between India and Pakistan. The issue of peace and security between the two countries is now very uncertain.
