Netanyahu Congratulates Trump on US Attack on Iran's Nuclear Facilities

The Middle East has been spiking again after the US military attack on Iran's nuclear facilities. Welcoming the incident, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated former US President Donald Trump in a statement. He called the attack a "bold decision" and a "history-making step."
In a pre-recorded video message posted on social media early Sunday (June 22, 2025), Netanyahu said, "The United States has done something that no other country in the world has been able to do. History will record that President Trump acted to prevent the most dangerous regime in the world from obtaining the most dangerous weapons in the world."
Netanyahu's statement clearly indicates that Israel fully supports the US military action against Iran. Israel has long feared that Iran is developing nuclear weapons and that this is an existential threat to Israel. However, Iran has always claimed that its nuclear program is peaceful and is conducted only for civilian purposes.
According to analysts, this attack on Iran could indicate a major conflict in the Middle East. The situation has become more complicated due to the progress of Iran's uranium enrichment and limited international monitoring in the past few months. In addition, the increasing activity of groups close to Iran has worried the United States and its allies.
Although Iran has not yet officially commented on the attack, the country's state-run media has characterized it as a "foreign aggression" and warned of harsh retaliation. Military alert has been increased across the country and defense systems have been strengthened.
The incident has also caused strong reactions in the international community. Several countries, including the United Nations and the European Union, have called for a peaceful solution. They say that this attack will further complicate the situation and could threaten stability in the Middle East.
The impact of this attack in the context of world politics could be long-term. The US move could escalate tensions with Russia and China, while also being seen as a major milestone in Israeli security policy. Trump's praise of Netanyahu could also create a strategic advantage for Republicans in the Middle East in future US elections.
