At least 316 hospitals, healthcare centers and medical institutions across Iran have been damaged or destroyed by US and Israeli attacks in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The country's Red Crescent Society has released this information.
Iran's Health Ministry on Thursday (April 2) presented a picture of the damage after the recent devastating attack on the Pasteur Institute, a century-old medical research center. Al Jazeera reported that the ongoing air and missile attacks have disrupted the most essential medical infrastructure for the general public.
In addition to the Pasteur Institute, the Toyafog-e Daru Pharmaceutical Research and Production Institute located in the west of Tehran province and the Gandhi Hospital in Tehran have also been subjected to major attacks. In addition, the Farabi Hospital and Medical Center located in Kermanshah in western Iran was also destroyed or damaged.
According to analysts, the humanitarian crisis in Iran is intensifying due to the destruction of such a large number of medical centers. The general public is now facing a serious health risk due to the failure to reach the minimum level of emergency medical services.
