Indian media's claim of 'fuel-free Bangladesh' is false and misleading

Many Asian countries, including Bangladesh, are currently under energy pressure due to the global situation. Especially, the conflict in the Middle East and disruptions in the supply system have created some problems in importing energy. In this situation, the government is having to take various restrictive measures.
However, it is not correct to present this ongoing crisis as a "complete fuel shortage". According to government information, fuel supply and import activities in the country are continuing normally and the situation is still under control.
Recently, an Indian media outlet claimed that Bangladesh could become the world's first "fuel-free country" if the ships do not arrive. But this claim is not in line with reality and is clearly exaggerated.
According to relevant experts, the main crisis at present is not the collapse of the supply system; rather, temporary pressure has been created due to panic-induced excess demand and hoarding.
Meanwhile, the government has already taken initiatives to procure fuel from different countries, increase imports, and find alternative sources. In addition, diesel supplies from India continue to be supplied, which is helping to keep the situation normal.
Overall, the fear of Bangladesh becoming a “fuel-free country” despite being fuel-stressed is not realistic; rather, it is an exaggerated and misleading propaganda.
