Coordination Meeting Held in Tetulia Ahead of Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day

A preparatory meeting was held in Tetulia, Panchagarh, to ensure the Great Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day are observed with due respect and solemnity. The meeting took place on Thursday morning (February 19) at the Tetulia Upazila Parishad auditorium and was organized by the Tetulia Upazila Administration. Officials from various departments, heads of educational institutions, and other relevant representatives attended the session.

The meeting was chaired by Afroz Shahin Khusru, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Tetulia. In his speech, he emphasized that the sacrifices of the language movement martyrs are immortal in the nation’s history. He called upon everyone to play a responsible role to ensure that the observance of the day is conducted without any negligence. Guidelines were also provided for the smooth, disciplined, and meaningful execution of all scheduled programs.

Speeches were delivered by Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. S.M. Akash, Officer-in-Charge of Tetulia Police Station Md. Rashedul Islam, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Shawkat Ali, LGED Officer Idris Ali, Upazila Agriculture Officer Sabrina Afrin, Upazila ICT Officer Nabiul Karim, and Public Health Engineering Officer Mithun Kumar Roy, among others. The speakers discussed the successful implementation of various activities, including laying wreaths at the martyrs’ monument, morning processions, discussion sessions, cultural programs, and institution-based events.

The meeting also emphasized maintaining law and order, ensuring cleanliness, and strengthening coordination among different departments. Educational institutions were encouraged to actively participate in spreading the significance of the day among the younger generation.

The Upazila Administration stated that all programs in Tetulia will be conducted with proper respect and discipline to honor the martyrs and preserve the dignity of the mother language.
