Advisor to BNP Chairperson and UK BNP President MA Malik said that the accomplices of the fascist government should be brought to justice. Sheikh Hasina brutally killed BNP leaders and activists. More than 600 activists have gone missing. They have not been found yet. Mirror artisans are out of touch. They should be brought to justice.
He said these things at the exchange meeting organized on the occasion of MA Malik's homecoming after 17 years at Zahur Hossain Chowdhury Hall of Jatiya Press Club on Monday (October 14).
The exchange meeting was organized by the organizing committee of MA Malik's homecoming.
In the anti-fascist movement, our leaders and activists had to undergo a severe test - MA Malik said, under the guidance of the patriot Tariq Rahman, the leaders and activists have fought uncompromisingly against fascism for 17 years. Our guardian Begum Khaleda Zia suffered indescribable torture while fighting for democracy. These histories should be highlighted.
He said, I am happy to come to independent Bangladesh today. This freedom came through the sacrifice of martyrs. We must be united to protect the freedom that has come through the blood-sacrifice of the students. Only political parties alone cannot protect this freedom. The vast people of the country must be united.
This advisor of BNP Chairperson said that democracy is being practiced in Europe and the United States today. Even the neighboring country India is practicing democracy. But they (India) again promote dictatorship, dictatorial government in our country. They are part of a conspiracy to suppress us. We struggled against their conspiracy. People of Bangladesh have repeatedly struggled for freedom and democracy. We cannot be suppressed.
In the meeting, BNP joint secretary Nilufar Chowdhury Moni said that BNP leaders and activists fought against the dictatorship of Sheikh Hasina by ignoring Sheikh Hasina's bloodshot eyes. Murderer Hasina brutally killed our leaders and activists. Six hundred activists including our elder brother Ilyas Ali have gone missing. They are still not found. Exemplary punishment for these murders, disappearances and torture of the fascist government must be ensured.
He said that MA Malik has kept Deshanayak Tarek Rahman for 17 years. Ignoring Sheikh Hasina's bloodshot eyes, he struggled to return the voting rights of the people of the country. He gave shelter and advice to the oppressed BNP activists. His contribution will be remembered forever.
Advisor to BNP Chairperson Tahsina Rushdi Luna, wife of missing BNP leader Elias Ali, said, Malek Bhai has come to Bangladesh after 17 years. You are considered by the people of Bangladesh. Because of his courage and his role in restoring democracy from faraway London, at the same time he strengthened the hands of Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman and he has always played a leading role in the movement where we have suffered the tyranny of Sheikh Hasina's dictatorship for 16 years. Whenever Sheikh Hasina went to UK and Canada or wherever she went in Europe, Malek Bhai played a leading role in opposing this fascist Hasina.
He said, Hasina always said that I could never do the program well because of the UK BNP. He was always facing obstacles because of Malek Bhai. People all over Bangladesh have seen it, especially thanks to Facebook.
Tahsina Rushdi Luna said, today we are free from dictatorship. But as we hoped, when the dictatorship is freed, we will get a verdict on the disappearances. We could not find any whereabouts of the 600 BNP leaders who went missing, including my husband Ilyas Ali. The current interim government has been in power for more than two months. They formed a commission. But we do not see any significant work of that commission.
Ilyas Ali's wife said, we have already found out who was involved in this disappearance and murder. Two of them have already been arrested. But they have not been interrogated so far. The current government has not been able to find out from them the whereabouts of the missing leaders and where they are. I would request the government to make it clear to all nations through their interrogation. I demand that those involved in this disappearance be brought under the law and face trial.
Educationist said in the meeting. Fardin Islam, Human Rights Association Chairman Manjur Hossain Isa and others.
