'Sheikh Hasina Force’ takes out a surprise procession at midnight, 3 arrested

A surprise procession of Awami League-backed youths took out a surprise procession in Chittagong city on Thursday (April 24) midnight. The marchers continued to march on the road in the Love Lane area with banners reading ‘Sheikh Hasina Force’ in their hands. After the procession, the police conducted a raid and arrested three youths.
A 34-second video of the participants in the procession went viral on Facebook, in which 15 to 20 young people are seen marching with banners reading ‘Sheikh Hasina Force’. The participants in the procession kept chanting slogans, “Sheikh Hasina will come, Bangladesh will laugh”. The incident sparked widespread discussion on social media.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station Md. Abdul Karim said that three people have been arrested after seeing the video footage and a drive is underway to arrest the rest. He added, “We are investigating the entire matter and action will be taken against all of them as soon as possible.”
This is not the first incident, earlier on April 17, a surprise procession of the Jubo League was held in the Bahaddarhat More area of Chittagong. After the video of the procession was circulated on Facebook, the police conducted a raid and arrested five people.
After this incident, the police administration is on alert in various areas of Chittagong and is preparing to take legal action against the participants in the procession.
