Obaidul Quader leaves hospital, returns to 'secret place' in Kolkata for treatment

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has returned to 'secret place' from a private hospital in Kolkata after completing treatment. He was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Kolkata last Thursday night due to deterioration in his physical condition. It is learnt that he was put on ventilation at one stage as his condition was serious.
Obaidul Quader had been bedridden for some time due to various physical complications and old age-related problems. He was undergoing treatment at a secret house near Rajarhat Newtown area of Kolkata. He was being given oxygen support there. However, when his physical condition suddenly deteriorated rapidly, he was taken to Apollo Hospital in an almost unconscious state.
According to hospital sources, he was kept under close observation after admission and ventilation support was given as his condition deteriorated. After a few days of treatment, his physical condition improved slightly and he was discharged from the hospital four days later on Monday (January 5) afternoon.
Sources further said that Obaidul Quader was not feeling well during his stay in the hospital. Therefore, on the advice of doctors, he was taken back to his secret residence. Currently, necessary medical treatment and observation arrangements are being made there.
It is worth noting that Obaidul Quader is known to have left for India after the July uprising in Bangladesh. Since then, he has been suffering from various physical complications. Although his current physical condition is stable, doctors have advised him to take complete rest, according to the relevant sources.
