For the past 17 years, the people of the country have not had the opportunity to actually vote in the national elections, said BNP Central Committee’s Joint Secretary for Family Welfare and BNP’s nominated candidate for Dhaka-19 constituency Dr. Dewan Md. Salauddin Babu. He said that the people deprived of voting rights for a long time will vote for BNP in the national elections this time and bring them to power.
He said these things as the chief guest at a view-sharing meeting organized with Savar Sadar Union Kindergarten teachers in Kalma area of Savar at noon. At that time, Dr. Salauddin Babu said that the people of the country are expecting a free, fair and impartial election, where they will get the opportunity to vote for the candidate of their choice. BNP is by the side of the people to fulfill that expectation.
Regarding teachers, he said that if BNP comes to power, proper status of teachers will be ensured in all matters. He alleged that although the role of teachers is very important in improving the quality of education, they were neglected and deprived during the previous Awami League government. He also assured that if the BNP forms the government, fair rights, respect and facilities will be ensured to the teachers.
Highlighting various issues of local politics at the view-sharing meeting, he said that a good relationship between the political leadership and the teacher community is essential for building an educated nation. Therefore, the BNP will work by giving importance to the opinions and suggestions of teachers in running the future state.
Savar Thana BNP General Secretary Golam Mostafa, Savar Sadar Union Acting Chairman Arif Hossain, BNP and its affiliated organizations leaders and activists, and local teachers were present at the meeting. The speakers highlighted various problems and expectations of teachers and urged them to work unitedly in view of the upcoming elections.
