Rumin Farhana on Rumors of Joining NCP

Published: 02:02 18 April 2026
Rumin Farhana, the newly elected MP from Brahmanbaria-2 constituency and former BNP leader, has dismissed the discussions and rumors of joining the National Citizens Party (NCP) as completely baseless. She clearly stated that there is no truth to such news and these are mere rumors.
Participating in a discussion with a German-based media outlet on Friday, she said that the propaganda being spread about joining the NCP does not match reality. She emphasized that no decision or discussion was made on her behalf in this regard.
Rumin Farhana said that after being expelled from the BNP, various political parties in the country naturally tried to contact her. In that vein, the NCP also invited her to join the party.
She said that at various times, NCP leaders requested her to join them and offered to work together. However, she did not give importance to this proposal and took the matter lightly and did not take the discussion forward.
Asked if he has any plans to join the NCP to increase his speaking opportunities in Parliament, he said he will not join any political party just for the opportunity to speak. According to him, it is not possible for him to change parties for a small opportunity by sacrificing his political ideology, thoughts and goals.
He also said that there are numerous platforms for speaking, where he can express his views. So there is no question of deviating from his policies for the opportunity to speak for a short time in Parliament.
