Rashed Khan, a political assistant to the Prime Minister, has leveled sharp criticism at Dr. S. M. Khaliduzzaman—a leader of Jamaat-e-Islami and a former parliamentary candidate for the Dhaka-17 constituency. He alleges that throughout the 16-year tenure of the Awami League government, Khaliduzzaman was never seen participating in any street-level movements.
Rashed Khan made these remarks in a post on his verified Facebook page on Friday (October 16).

Rashed claims that during Sheikh Hasina’s rule, Khaliduzzaman did not even post anything against her on social media; yet, he is now questioning the political movements and sacrifices of others.
He further alleges that Khaliduzzaman’s Facebook page was created on August 25, 2024, and asserts that he only became politically active following the ouster of Sheikh Hasina.
In his post, the Prime Minister’s political assistant labels Khaliduzzaman an ‘opportunist,’ criticizing both his political stance and his past conduct.
However, these allegations by Rashed Khan have not been independently verified. Furthermore, no response from Khaliduzzaman regarding these accusations has appeared in any published reports.
