Bangladesh won the SAFF Under-20 Championship for the first time by defeating Nepal 4-1 in the final. The match held at the Anfa Complex in Kathmandu impressed the spectators and disappointed the hosts Nepal.

Nepal dominated possession and attack in the first half, but failed to capitalize on the opportunities. Bangladeshi forward Mirajul Islam scored a brilliant free-kick in extra time to put the team ahead.
Mirajul scored his second goal with a header in the 52nd minute of the match. Rahul Hossain scored the third goal from Mirajul's assist in the 70th minute. Nepal equalized with a goal in the 80th minute. Bangladesh scored a fourth goal in injury time at the end of the regular time to secure the victory.
Although the Nepalese spectators threw bottles and created a heated situation in the excitement of the game, the Bangladeshi players secured the victory through disciplined play.
A new chapter in Bangladeshi football began with this success. The team and fans are celebrating the title win with excitement.
