Getaf stops Barcelona!

Barcelona showed extraordinary football in the Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup. They proved their strength by defeating Real Madrid 5-2 and Real Betis 5-1. But the Catalans had to draw 1-1 against Getafe on Saturday to return to La Liga.

Barcelona has not seen victory at Getafe's Coliseum Stadium for the last 5 years. They last won at Getafe's ground in 2019 under Ernesto Valverde. This time too, they had to return without a win. Barcelona took 21 shots at Getafe's goal, but only 5 were on target. On the other hand, Getafe managed to put 4 shots on target out of 10.

The visitors took the lead early in the match. In the 9th minute, French defender Jules Kunde scored from a pass by Pedri. However, Getafe equalized in the 34th minute. When Coba da Costa's shot from a teammate's flying ball was saved by Barcelona goalkeeper Peña, the ball hit the foot of Uruguayan midfielder Aramabari and went into the net.

After the break, Barcelona launched one attack after another, but Getafe counterattacked. In the 80th minute of the match, Frenkie de Jong's excellent shot was blocked by the Getafe goalkeeper. Then Rafinha failed to score from Lamine Yamal's cross. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.

As a result of the draw, Barcelona is in third place in the La Liga table with 39 points after 20 matches.
