Bangladesh Cricket Board Cricket Operations Chairman Jalal Yunus has resigned. Jalal, a board director, has decided to resign. He has taken this decision in view of the ongoing political events in Bangladesh.
As reported by Cricbuzz, Jalal said, "I have resigned from the board for the sake of cricket." He is the first director to resign from the current board, which has been under investigation since the change of government following student protests. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of the Awami League government resigned on August 5 due to this movement.
BCB president Nazmul Hasan has also expressed his desire to resign, so it is expected that there may be a change in the board. Hasan's aim is to cooperate with the new government by resigning for the sake of cricket. The resignation of Jalal Younis signals a significant change in the Bangladesh Cricket Board. His decision comes amid political changes and investigations into the board's activities.
Jalal's resignation could have a major impact on Bangladesh cricket activities. Questions have already been raised about hosting the Women's T20 World Cup. If the board president resigns and government interference in the board increases, the ICC can ban BCB membership. Bangladesh team is currently on a tour of Pakistan. There are two Test matches to be played.
