The intensity of winter is gradually increasing across the country, including the capital Dhaka. Dense fog and cold winds have disrupted public life. Even as the morning rolls around, the sun is not visible, roads, houses and nature are covered in a blanket of fog. The most suffering in this outbreak of winter are the uprooted and low-income people, for whom daily life is becoming more difficult.
The country's lowest temperature was recorded in Nikli, Kishoreganj on Sunday (December 28). The temperature there dropped to 9.8 degrees Celsius. Along with this, the temperature has also dropped significantly in different parts of the country, as a result of which the feeling of winter has become more intense.
The picture of the capital is also quite different due to the dense fog. Sunlight is not reaching many places from morning to noon. Traffic movement is being disrupted on the fog-covered roads, working people, daily wage workers and those involved in transport are suffering. Due to adverse weather, people are getting late for work, and in many cases, daily income is decreasing.
The Meteorological Department said that the difference between day and night temperatures has decreased due to the influence of cold winds coming from the Uttar Pradesh region of India. Due to this situation, dense fog is forming in different parts of the country. According to the forecast of meteorologists, such foggy weather may continue for at least 3 to 4 more days.
The Meteorological Office also said that moderate to dense fog may fall in some parts of the country from midnight to morning in some areas. This fog may last till noon in some areas. As a result, there is a possibility of further disruption in vehicle movement and normal life.
Meanwhile, health risks are also increasing due to the intensity of winter. The number of patients suffering from pneumonia, diarrhea and other cold-related diseases has started increasing in hospitals. Doctors said that children and the elderly are especially at risk. They advised to use warm clothes to avoid cold and take necessary precautions.
Overall, according to the forecast of the Meteorological Office, this situation of cold and fog may continue for the next few days. Therefore, the relevant authorities have urged the public to take necessary precautions and remain aware of their movement and health safety.
