Women activists beat up Mohila Dal leader in Khulna

A group of women activists of the same organization have been accused of beating up Mohila Dal joint secretary Syeda Arifa Ashrafi Chumki due to an internal dispute in front of the BNP party office in Khulna. The incident took place on KD Ghosh Road on Friday (May 2) afternoon. Chumki alleged that the accused were followers of Khulna Mohila Dal leader Aziza Khanam Eliza.
Arifa Ashrafi Chumki said that she was attacked when she left the office after the preparation meeting of the Mohila Committee at the BNP office. The accused women are Sharmin, Munni Zaman, Putul, Kankoli, Medina, Reshmi and Salma. She alleged that they threw her on the street and physically assaulted her.
He further said that he has informed the Metropolitan BNP President Advocate SM Shafiqul Alam Mona, General Secretary Shafiqul Alam Tuhin and the central leaders of the Women's Party about this.
Meanwhile, the leader of the accused party Aziza Khanam Eliza denied the allegations and said, "Nothing happened in the party office. I don't actually know anything. However, I heard that Chumki had abused others - something might have happened from that source."
In the wake of the incident, Khulna Metropolitan BNP General Secretary Shafiqul Alam Tuhin said, "We have received Chumki's complaint. Considering the situation, it has been decided to dissolve the current committee of the Khulna Metropolitan Women's Party."
Political analysts are of the opinion that the internal conflicts of the Metropolitan BNP have come to light due to the incident.
