An officer of the army's 46th Independent Infantry Brigade confirmed the matter and said that a video of a showdown between Nayan and his teenage gang using country-made weapons in the Chand Udyan area of Mohammadpur recently went viral. The video also captured a person being stabbed and injured, which was later published in the media.
Since that incident, the army had been monitoring Nayan's movements with the help of information technology. Finally, Nayan's location was identified around 4 pm on Thursday and he was first arrested. Later, according to the information provided by him, three more associates were arrested and their various hideouts were searched. A huge amount of domestic weapons and cocktails were recovered in the operation.
