Citizens (Sujon) District Committee Reorganized for Good Governance in Panchagarh

Keeping in mind the slogan “Aware, organized and vocal people are the protectors of democracy” — the Citizens (Sujon) District Branch Committee Reorganized and Planning Meeting was held in Panchagarh. The new 27-member executive committee was officially announced at the hall of the city’s party center on Saturday (November 8) evening.
AKM Fazle Nur (Bachchu) has been re-elected as the president of the newly formed committee and Tabirul Islam Manik has been appointed as the general secretary. In addition, Rafiqul Islam Bhutto has been re-elected as the organizing secretary.
Sujon’s Rangpur divisional coordinator Rajesh Dey was present as the chief guest at the event. The meeting was chaired by the newly elected president AKM Fazle Nur (Bachchu) and moderated by Rafiqul Islam Bhutto and journalist Dejar Hossain Badsha.
The meeting discussed establishing good governance, protecting civil rights, increasing transparency in local government activities, creating public awareness to prevent corruption and inspiring the young generation to have a sense of social responsibility. In addition, a year-long action plan was also adopted to organize seminars on good governance, increase civic dialogue and public involvement.
At this time, the speakers said, "Sujon has always been working as the voice of civil society. The organization will play an important role in establishing democracy, justice and transparency in the future as well."
Later, Sujon's Rangpur divisional coordinator Rajesh Dey officially announced the names of the newly elected committee members.
The members of the newly formed executive committee are:
Vice-President: Mosharraf Hossain, MA Hannan, Selina Parvin and Hejarul Islam.
Joint-General Secretaries: Dejar Hossain Badsha and Jahangir Alam.
Treasurer: Sadequl Islam.
Publicity and Publication Secretary: Imran Hossain Raju.
Office Secretary: Mahbub Ahsan.
Cultural Secretary: Gopal Chandra.
Seminar Secretary: Snigdha Khandaker Neha.
Members: Zahirul Islam, Harun Or Rashid, Mirza Sadequl Islam, Shafiul Ripon, Shampa Roy, MA Based, Rafiqul Islam, Shahdat Hossain, Aftab Hossain, Mojirul Haque and Rokeya Begum.
At the meeting, newly elected president AKM Fazle Nur (Bachchu) said, “We believe that good governance is not possible without increasing citizen awareness. Therefore, Sujan will play an active role at every level of Panchagarh in the coming days.”
On the other hand, General Secretary Tabirul Islam Manik said, “The unity of civil society is the biggest strength in maintaining the continuity of democracy. We will all work together to establish transparency and accountability.”
At the end of the program, the guests present greeted the newly elected leaders with flowers and wished the organization success and continuous progress.
