Smiles on children's faces in Durgapur: Distribution of gifts to 283 children

The Central and Southern Bangladesh Child Development Project (BD-0422) has taken an exceptional initiative to bring smiles to the faces of underprivileged children in Durgapur, Netrokona. The project has distributed gifts to 283 children from different areas of the upazila. The program was held on Monday (December 22) afternoon at the Baromori Compassion Auditorium in Durgapur Upazila in the presence of local dignitaries.

The entire auditorium became festive with the discussion meeting, cultural programs and participation of children organized on the occasion of the gift distribution. The lively presence of children and a joyful atmosphere made the program turn into a small festival.

The discussion meeting was chaired by Pastor Kamp Kumar Mrong, President of the LCC Committee, and moderated by teacher Kripanjali Chambhugong. Alison Ghagra, Manager of the Central and Southern Bangladesh Child Development Project, delivered a welcome speech. Upazila Executive Officer Afroza Afsana spoke as the chief guest. Press Club President Tobarak Hossain Khokon, Academic Supervisor Muhammad Nasir Uddin, Pastor Mihir Chandra Kubi and many others spoke as special guests.

In their speeches, the speakers said that the main goal of this initiative is to ensure the mental development of children and share joy in the lives of underprivileged children. Such events increase the confidence of children and play a helpful role in developing their latent talents.

At the end of the discussion meeting, gifts including winter clothes were distributed among the 283 children present as part of the festival. The excitement and joy of the children on receiving the gifts touched the hearts of everyone present.

In the last part of the program, the children presented songs and dances showcasing their talents and cultural heritage. The lively performances of the children added extra joy to the program and made the entire event memorable.
