Unity and joint efforts are needed to move the country forward: State Minister Farhad Hossain Azad

At a program to provide financial assistance to sick journalists in Panchagarh, State Minister for Water Resources Farhad Hossain Azad said that national unity and joint efforts are most needed at present to maintain the progress and development of the country.
He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a program organized at the Panchagarh Press Club Hallroom on Tuesday (May 26) afternoon.
The State Minister said, "We will do work, we will build the country, Bangladesh first" - everyone should come forward to build the country together. Stating that the role of the media is important in the development and progress of the country, he sought the cooperation of journalists.
Citing various recent incidents, he said that the government is working to solve various problems in the country and everyone must play a responsible role in the national interest.
Regarding the Ramisa murder, the State Minister said that the government is viewing the incident with great importance and steps have been taken to ensure speedy justice. He also alleged that a political group tried to take the situation into a different direction based on the incident.
He further said that the ongoing development activities of the government are continuing. He also highlighted various plans for infrastructural development in Panchagarh. He expressed his expectation of implementing various development projects including bridges, alternative roads, government auditoriums.
At the event, financial assistance was provided to sick journalists at the initiative of the Panchagarh Press Club. At this time, various political and social personalities spoke under the chairmanship of Press Club President Mosharraf Hossain and moderated by General Secretary Sarkar Haider.
Leaders and activists of the district BNP, various associate organizations and local journalists were present at the event.
