Looting, fire at the residence of two MPs and mayor in Habiganj

Habiganj District Awami League President. Abu Zahir MP and former MP Abdul Majeed Khan's multi-storey residence has been extensively looted. For two consecutive days, excited people have been looting things from the houses. Fire has also been given. After looting the houses of these two influential leaders for the second day, the house of Habiganj Municipality Mayor Ataur Rahman Selim was also looted on Monday night.
Also, there were reports of vandalism and arson at the houses of government representatives in different parts of the district.
It is known that when the Awami League clashed with the anti-discrimination student activists last Sunday, the agitated people ransacked the residence of MP Abu Zahir. Former MP Majid Khan's house, located next to his house, was also looted during the day on Monday.
On the surface, it can be seen from the multi-storied residence of the former and present MP at Town Hall Road, air conditioners, car parts, clothes, computers, televisions, refrigerators, cash and gold ornaments, various furniture, domestic animals, roof garden trees, doors, windows, grills. People were taking it hand in hand. They were carrying valuables including window glass, lift doors from the luxurious houses on CNG auto rickshaws and battery powered easy bikes. Many people are also seen cheering at this time.
Meanwhile, the same picture was seen at the residence of Habiganj Municipality Mayor Ataur Rahman Selim on Monday night. Locals said that the looters came from different villages in the suburbs. After the mass looting, there is nothing left in the houses. The tenants of former MP Majid Khan's house were also looted. As a result of the attack on the houses of the government party leaders, there has been panic throughout the district. Many people are relocating their belongings from their homes.
