Police investigation center at Madaripur
Allegations of assault and vandalism have been received at the police investigation center in Madaripur. The miscreants beat two night watchmen hostage at gunpoint. The incident took place at the Agulkata Police Investigation Center of Sadar Upazila in the early hours of Saturday. A team of army and police from Sadar Model Police Station visited the spot on Saturday morning after receiving the news.
According to the police and local sources, all the weapons, ammunition and policemen of the Agulkata Police Investigation Center were brought to the Madaripur Sadar Model Police Station on the orders of the top officials of the district police in the ongoing situation. Local chowkidars Anwar and Bachchu were given the duty of guarding there. The two night watchmen fell asleep in the police investigation center after having dinner as usual. In the early morning, a group of miscreants broke the lock of the gate and entered. Later, they took the night guards hostage at gunpoint and vandalized the furniture. Anwar and Bachchu were beaten up if they resisted. Later, the assailants destroyed the CCTV camera and left with the flag of East Bengal Proletarian Party near the police investigation center. A team of Bangladesh Army and Sadar Model Police Station visited the spot on Saturday morning after receiving the news. However, no one was arrested in this incident.
Madaripur Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AHM Salauddin said that a group of miscreants left behind a flag of proletariat parties. However, the police could not do any damage to the investigation center. Besides, all the important items, goods have been removed from the investigation center and brought to a safe place long ago. Besides, considering the overall situation of the country, policemen have been brought from the investigation center and joined the police station.
