Criticism over changes to Ayub Bachchu's songs, warning of legal action

A special album 'Uttaradhikar' has been released to bring the popular songs of legendary band star Ayub Bachchu to the new generation. In this album, which is arranged with 20 popular songs, various contemporary bands and artists have arranged the songs in new music. There are plans to spend the money from the album on the construction of the Ayub Bachchu Museum. However, after the album was released, severe criticism has started on social media regarding some of the songs.

On Ayub Bachchu's birthday on August 16, the first song of the album, 'Rupali Guitar', was released on YouTube. Bappa Majumdar has sung the vocals in it. Since then, seven songs from the album have been released so far. Among them, the song 'Ghumanta Sharhar' sung by Adit Rahman is seeing the most discussion and criticism on social media. Along with the new music arrangement, the singing has also been changed in the song.

A section of Ayub Bachchu's fans have complained that the emotion and appeal of the original song has been lost by adding new singing and performance styles. Some have also commented that it is disrespectful to the late artist's creation. There have also been demands to remove the song from YouTube. Some listeners have also warned of legal action if the demands are not met. However, at the same time, some artists have also received praise for re-performing other songs by Ayub Bachchu. In particular, Molla Babu's 'Kasht Kake Bole' has received positive reactions on social media.

Molla Babu has expressed his reaction to the 'Uttaradhikar' album and the song 'Ghumanta Sharhar'. He said that he wants to sing Ayub Bachchu's songs as long as he lives, out of respect for him. He also commented that the songs in the album are beautiful. However, he said that after seeing the criticism on social media and listening to 'Ghumanta Sharhar' with interest, he did not find the appeal of Ayub Bachchu's original song in the song.

Meanwhile, the name of guitarist Abdullah Al Masud, Ayub Bachchu's long-time companion in LRB and general secretary of Ayub Bachchu Foundation, has come into discussion around the 'Uttaradhikar' project. However, in a long post, he clarified that he has no involvement with this project. He said that he was not involved in any decision or activity from the beginning of the project until now. At the same time, he also called for attention to be paid to the fact that the emotion, dignity and original feeling of Ayub Bachchu's songs should not be lost when performing his songs.
