It has been claimed that the Saudi Arabian air force has carried out attacks targeting powerful Shiite militias active in Iraq and supported by Tehran during the Iran war. At the same time, rocket attacks were also carried out from Kuwait inside Iraq. Most of the information about this military activity in the Gulf region was kept secret during the war.

According to the international media outlet Reuters, citing Iraqi and Western military officials, it was reported that this operation was carried out targeting militia bases located in the area adjacent to the northern border of Saudi Arabia. It has been reported that the bases from which drone and missile attacks were launched against Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries were the main targets.

On the other hand, rocket attacks were also carried out from Kuwait inside Iraq. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether these attacks were carried out by Kuwaiti forces or by US troops deployed there. The US military has refused to comment on this matter.

Sources say that several militia fighters were killed in a series of strikes in southern Iraq in April. The operation completely destroyed a drone and communications facility of the Iran-backed Kataib Hezbollah. Reliable sources claim that some of these strikes were carried out in the early hours of April 7, just before the announcement of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
