The Israeli army has ordered residents of about 50 towns, upazilas and villages in southern and eastern Lebanon to leave the areas on an urgent basis. This has created fears of a major military operation or attack in the relevant areas.

A report published on Wednesday (May 27) said that the Israeli army has issued multiple warnings in the last 24 hours. These instructions, given for about 10 hours, asked people in the relevant areas to quickly move to safe places. This spread panic and anxiety among the locals.

The strictest instructions have been given to residents of the important city of Nabitah in southern Lebanon. People have been ordered to leave the entire city. The Israeli army said that residents of the risky areas should move north of the Zahrani River, about 40 kilometers from the border area.

After this sudden announcement, various videos spread on social media showed people quickly leaving their homes and running for safe shelter. Some are leaving the area by car, some by motorcycle, and many are leaving on foot with essential supplies.

The list published by Israel includes the names of several well-known towns and villages in southern Lebanon. Notable among them are Jebshit, Kafr Sir, Majdal Silam, Maraqa, Zuwayya and Deir Kifa.

According to analysts, the order to evacuate people on such a large scale in such a short period of time indicates the seriousness of the situation. This also increases the risk of new major conflicts in the Middle East.
