Attack on BNP convoy in Gopalganj, 3 killed

3 leaders of the volunteer party were killed in the attack on the convoy of BNP in Gopalganj. During this incident, at least 30 people including TV photojournalist HM Manik were injured. BNP leaders and activists alleged that the local Awami League leaders and activists carried out the attack.
The incident took place at Ghonapara area of the district headquarters on Friday around 4:30 pm. At that time, the attackers vandalized 6 vehicles of BNP's fleet. Later, the police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
The deceased were Svechasevak Dal leader Shaukat Ali Didar and Mahanagar Svechasevak Dal leaders Liton and Sabuj. The deceased Shaukat Ali Didar was an umpire of the Bangladesh Cricket Board and a central leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Volunteers. His house is in Jatrabari, Dhaka.
